I was inspired to train as a therapist after working closely with patients in a mental health hospital, eating disorder unit and with the homeless and ex-offenders. Some stories and experiences resonated with me and after my own journey of understanding, acceptance, healing and self development, I began to gain the skills I needed to support others.
I have lots of varied life experience, I am very open minded and I have proudly supported a wide range of clients from different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, genders, sexuality and neurodivergence. I will always create a safe space for you to be your true self and I will work hard to understand how your unique experiences shape you as an individual.
I am compassionate, curious and real. I want therapy with me to be both containing and challenging. Most importantly, I want to establish deeply trusting therapeutic relationships.
Outside of work, I am a mum of a teenager and 2 young adults. I try to get outside as much as possible because being in nature is my happy place. I like spending quality time with friends and family. I also enjoy spending time on my own reading and writing, watching reality TV series that I should really have grown out of by now and researching places I would love to visit!
I am a qualified integrative therapist with a Master's degree level psychotherapy qualification. I also have specialist training and 6+ years experience of working with people with eating disorders including in-patient experience. What that means in plain English is that I have sufficient knowledge, training and experience to work with the complexities of an eating disorder, but not only the eating disorder.
I have completed CBT-E, MANTRA and FBT training (all ways of working specifically with eating disorders) as well as having a Diploma from the National Centre for Eating Disorders. I have a great deal of empathy, but if an eating disorder needs calling out, I can and will do that. I have specific training and experience to support neurodivergent people and make use of resources to adapt my approaches.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I therefore adhere to a strict ethical framework which means you are appropriately protected should you have any issues with me. You can find out more about the BACP ethical framework and how it protects clients here.
I am also registered with BUPA, Aviva and AXA insurance companies so I can work with you if your insurance covers this.

I offer a free 20 minute phone or video call with no pressure or obligation. This is a great way to share what you are struggling with and find out if I would be a good match for you. If I’m not the right fit, I will do my best to point you in the direction of other available support.
